Terms of service
Effective September 24, 2026.
These terms cover basaltstrength.com, the free guide, and anything you buy here. Using the site, downloading the guide, or placing an order means you agree to them. They are written plainly on purpose. Plain does not mean optional. Every line counts.
Who you are dealing with
Basalt Fitness LLC, a Pennsylvania limited liability company, entity number 0015688021. Mailing address: 20 Terry Dr #834, Newtown, PA 18940. Email: support@basaltfitness.com. The company is owned and run by Christopher Fox, who started BASALT to weigh and measure budget iron before selling it.
What we sell and what the numbers mean
We sell home gym equipment, and we publish measurements of it. Before an item lists, we buy retail samples of it, weigh and measure them on a calibrated scale on camera, and publish the figures in the Basalt Ledger with the date and the batch.
Read those figures for what they are. They are measurements of retail samples, batch dated. They describe the product family at the time we measured it. They are not a certification of the specific unit in your box, which we did not weigh. Cast iron varies from unit to unit. The 2 percent guarantee below is your recourse when your unit lands outside that range, and it is the whole of your recourse on weight and dimensions.
Status right now: the free guide is available. The iron, 5, 6, and 7 ft standard barbells, a 50 lb hex dumbbell, a 44 lb kettlebell, and a 25 lb bumper pair, lists after the measurement session. Until then nothing is for sale, the product pages carry no prices, and no number on the site is presented as our measurement. Nothing ships against an example figure.
The make-it-right guarantee
Each unit we ship is within 2 percent of its published Ledger number, or we make it right. If yours is more than 2 percent off within 30 days of delivery, you choose a replacement or a refund. We pay the return shipping. There is no restocking fee. To claim, email support@basaltfitness.com a photo of the unit on any scale.
The guarantee and the return policy on the shipping and returns page are part of these terms. Beyond them, the equipment is sold as is. We make no other warranty, express or implied, and that includes the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Some states do not allow that limit. If yours is one of them, it applies only as far as your state permits.
Prices and pricing errors
Prices are in US dollars and include shipping to the lower 48 states. Pennsylvania orders add state sales tax, shown before you pay.
We type the prices in by hand, and hands slip. If a price on the site is wrong, we may correct it any time before your order ships. If that happens to your order, we email you the correct price first. You can pay it or take a full refund. We do not ship at the wrong price and bill you the difference later.
Orders and payment
Payment at launch is processed by Stripe. Your card number goes to Stripe and never touches our systems. An order is accepted when we email you the confirmation. Until then it is a request, and we can decline it, for example if the item is out of stock or the price was wrong. Anything you paid on a declined order comes back in full.
The free guide
The First 90 Days is a free PDF, delivered by download link. It is copyright Basalt Fitness LLC. You may share it free of charge, whole and unmodified, with anyone you like. You may not sell it, charge for access to it, change it, or take our name off it. It is general information about training, not medical advice, and not a substitute for a coach standing next to you.
Safety and assumption of risk
Weight training carries real risk. Weights get dropped. Bars roll. Muscles, joints, and floors get hurt, and injury can be serious. You know this, and by using equipment bought here you accept that risk.
You are responsible for how you use it: inside its stated ratings, with collars secured, on flooring that can take it, with a spotter or safeties when the lift calls for one, and with judgment. Inspect equipment before each use and stop using anything that looks damaged. Consult your physician before beginning any exercise program, especially if you have a heart, joint, or back condition, or are pregnant.
Limitation of liability
If something we sold you causes a loss, our total liability to you is capped at the amount you paid for that product. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost income, lost time, or damage to floors, walls, vehicles, or other property, even if we were told it could happen. Some states do not allow some of these limits. Where that is the case, the limit applies as far as the law permits and no further. Nothing on this page limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
The site and its content
Everything on basaltstrength.com, including the words, the photos, the Ledger reports, the calculators, and the free guide, is copyright Basalt Fitness LLC. Quote it with a link back. Do not copy pages wholesale or pass the content off as your own. The BASALT name and wordmark are ours.
Use the site for what it is for. Do not try to break it, scrape it to resell, or send anything through the contact form that you would not sign your name to.
Disputes
Pennsylvania law governs these terms. If we have a dispute we cannot settle by email, it goes to the state or federal courts serving Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and both of us agree to that venue. Either side may instead bring a claim in small claims court, as long as it qualifies under that court's rules. Before you file anything, email us. Most problems here are a refund away.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, the date at the top changes. The version posted when you place an order is the one that applies to that order.
The rest
If a court finds one line of these terms unenforceable, the rest stands. These terms, the privacy policy, and the shipping and returns page are the whole agreement between you and Basalt Fitness LLC about the site and what you buy here. If we let something slide once, that does not mean we have given up the right to enforce it later.
